Deputy Minister for Higher Education and Training, Mr Buti Manamela will tomorrow attend the annual summit by the Fibre Processing and Manufacturing SETA. The annual meeting will showcase different skills and careers to more than 1000 high school learners in Grades 10 - 12.
Many young people do not have access to information to be able to make career decisions that will allow them to contribute meaningfully to the economy. The skills and career development summit provides aims to close the information gap.
The summit will be providing different funding opportunities and learnerships, as funding is one of the obstacles that many young people face when it comes to higher learning, education and training. A series of Focus sessions in partnership with government and the private sector will be hosted; giving these young people a platform to interact with industry players.
