The Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini will on Thursday, 22 November 2012, address a press briefing on preparations for the upcoming National Youth camp that will be held in the Free State from 2 to 7 December 2012. The camp will bring about 500 Youth from 9 provinces in a multi-cultural environment.
The objective of the camp is:
- to build a critical mass Youth South African leaders
- to promote responsible and active citizens
- to create a conducive platform for young people to debate and express themselves on current issues and challenges
- to strengthen the culture of Youth clubs.

On Friday, 23 November Minister Dlamini together with officials of the Department, the South African Social Security Agency ( SASSA) and the National Development Agency (NDA) be visiting a number of communities in the Western Cape province to officially launch the “ Food For All Campaign”.
The campaign is in line with government's commitment to the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), especially Goal 1 of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger by 2015. The campaign seeks to complement other anti-poverty measures initiated by government, with specific focus on addressing issue of malnutrition among children impoverished communities.
